BUSINESS owners, heads of organisations and community leads swapped office wear for casual clothes for sports’ taster sessions at the Bolton Arena Community Sports Village.
The occasion was the latest We Are Bolton Ambassadors’ breakfast meeting, introduced by Catherine Price, Bolton’s Place Brand Manager, Becci Martin from Boo Coaching and Neil Hutchinson, Managing Director of the Middlebrook Leisure Trust which runs the Bolton Arena Community Sports Village.
There was the opportunity for the 100-plus Ambassadors attending to take part in sporting activities – Pickleball, walking football and netball – followed by a series of inspirational speakers explaining what Bolton means to them.
These included representatives from Age UK, The Bereavement Café, local men’s health and wellbeing organisation Talking Football, Bolton GP Federation, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Bridgewater Home Care.
Catherine Price, Bolton’s Place Brand Manager, explained how this was the Ambassadors’ third event and it was “a great success.”
“It was a true celebration of the incredible health and wellbeing work happening across Bolton and a showcase of the amazing passion, dedication and innovation that exists within our town and in our Ambassadors,” she stated.
“It’s definitely true that in Bolton, success is in our DNA.”
Stuart Kay, Head of Sports and Communities at the Arena, described the event as “a fantastic opportunity” to showcase its sporting offer.
“It was great to see Ambassadors taking part in sports and activities they may have previously enjoyed,” he said. “The Arena offers a wide range of low-impact sports each week and it was wonderful to see the engagement and enthusiasm of all the Ambassadors.”
Two of the attendees, Julie O’Hara Gradwell and Belinda Taylor Brown from JOG Consultancy said how they enjoyed attending the Ambassadors’ meeting which “highlighted the continued progress and development across our community.”
Julie added: “Bolton is evolving with increasing opportunities that benefit both residents and businesses alike,
“The commitment and support demonstrated by the Ambassadors and local organisations remains exceptional and is a testament to the strength of collaboration within the town.
“As Ambassadors for Brand Bolton, we are proud to represent a community defined by enthusiasm, growth and shared ambition. Together, we are championing Bolton and contributing to a positive and lasting difference.”
